The number of people killed at the popular Maiduguri Monday market when a suicide bomber has is now 17 after a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber detonated an
Impoverished Explosive Devices (IEDs) at the popular Maiduguri Monday
market around 8:30am today. Most of those killed are petty
traders and members of the youth vigilante group popularly called
Civilian JTF in the area.. Chairman Sector 3 of the youth volunteer group, Civilian JTF Iliya Saidu said
the vehicle carrying the explosives broke the mirror of a commercial
motorcycle. Keke NAPEP, causing a quarrel that attracted the attention
of several of his men. He said it was during mediation by the Civilian JTF who also assisted
to push the vehicle off the road that the suicide bomber struck! This is coming just as doctors commenced their nationwide strike in Nigeria today.
